Problem Note 45960: The SAS/CONNECT® job spawner does not release file handles

When several users connect in parallel to a SAS/CONNECT® job spawner that is running as a service, the number of file handles is increased by the process spawner.exe. When all handles are in use, no other users can connect to the job spawner until the spawner is restarted. When the last available handle has been taken, the following error occurs in the SAS log:
NOTE: Remote signon to MYNODE commencing (SAS Release 9.01.01M3P020206). ERROR: A communication subsystem partner link setup request failure has occurred ERROR: Cannot start remote process.
The following error messages might also appear in the Windows Event viewer:
SAS Error Event: SAS is aborting through vacrash() SAS Error Event: FATAL ERROR: WRCODE=8000583d, MODULE='VQTCP': readcon #2 failed on only link. Critical SAS error: z Read Access Violation In Task [ sasxkern ) Exception occurred at (67916f71) ERROR: A communication subsystem message transmission request failure has occurred. ERROR: Communication Subsystem Request Failure: Supporting communication link has been severed. ERROR: Insufficient memory; aborting the link.
